Kinder- Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Fontenot Sonnier, 87, are Monday, October 26, 2009, at 2 PM at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Pastors Scott Coon and Paul Cavenah will officiate. Burial follows in Liberty Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 PM to 8 PM and continues Monday from 8 AM until services.

Mrs. Sonnier was a lifelong resident of Kinder. She passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at 10 AM in her residence, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed yard work, cooking and family gatherings in her home. She also enjoyed her daily prayer and quiet time. She was an active member of Church Alive for over 30 years.

She is survived by three sons: Jimmy Lee Sonnier and wife Terri of Elton; Alton Sonnier and wife Anita of Oberlin; and Arthur Lee Sonnier and wife Katy of Kinder; three daughters: Rose Lee Fontenot and husband Paul of Sulphur; Alvena Lee Williams and husband Monte of Lake Charles; and Angeline Julia Sonnier of Kinder; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
