Oakdale-Funeral Services for Julee Strother, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Tim Kelley will officiate. Burial will follow at Willis Flat Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Julee was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Russell, for sixty years until his passing in 2010. Her food was loved by many. There were very few Sundays that passed without her cooking a Sunday dinner for her family. Her family and friends says she made the best chicken and dumplings. She couldn't go a day without drinking her coffee; she had to have it several times a day. Julee enjoyed crocheting, dancing, listening to Solid Gold Sunday and gardening. She had a green thumb when it came to growing plants. She sold Mary Kay for many years and worked for her sister at Olive's Café. Julee will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Julee's memory include her three sons, Roy Dean, Randy and David Strother; one daughter, Rebecca Chamberlain (Bob); seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren and one on the way; and two great-great grandchildren.

Julee is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mellie Coker Willis; husband, Russell Strother; one son, Carl Ray Strother; five brothers, Gilbert, Leonard, Andrew, Sid and Olan Willis; and four sisters, Olive Willis, Agness Parker, Neal Young and Ezie Welch.

Pallbearers honored to serve are: Dan Taylor, Michael Wood, Darrell Willis, Layton Doyle, Rayford Welch, Jordan Turner and Rusty Strother.
