Elton-Funeral service for Juanita "Sue" Ann Geer, 74, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Cremation following her funeral service, with burial at a later date, has been entrusted to Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 with the Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Juanita was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Juanita was very artistic and crafty; she enjoyed pottery and painting. Juanita was a certified scuba-diver. She loved animals and enjoyed collecting jewelry. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Juanita was very proud of her service in the United States Air Force. She then spent twenty-seven years in federal civil service where she served with distinction in a number of agencies. Juanita concluded her federal service by retiring from the Environmental Protection Agency. Upon retirement she returned home to her family and friends. She then became a dealer at Coushatta Casino Resort for over ten years. Juanita was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
Those left to cherish Juanita's memory include her daughter, Margaret Guillory and son-in-law, Michael, of Elton; one brother, Bill Geer Jr. and wife, Dolores, of Traverse City, MI; one sister, Sharon "Bonnie" Richard and husband, Dean Michael, of Elton; two granddaughters, Amanda Valdez, wife of Jesse Valdez, and Leigh-Anne Fuselier, wife of Jeremy Fuselier; and nine great grandchildren.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ida Geer.
