Elton-Funeral service for Joyce Bergeron Langley, 83, will be held at 2pm on July 3, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Marshall Boulet and Deacon John Eaves will officiate the service. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 10 a.m. in the morning until time of service that afternoon. A rosary will be recited at 12 o'clock noon.
Joyce was a life-long resident of Elton. She was a devoted member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also actively involved in the Ladies Altar Society. Joyce enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her friends and family.
Those left to cherish Joyce's memory include her three daughters- Rita Colleen Fontenot and Barbara (Bobbye) Fontenot Selman, both of Elton and Johanna (Jody) Langley McInnis of Shreveport; one sister-Patsy Bergeron Sonnier of Elton; five grandchildren-Katie Fontenot Dorr and husband, George of Jennings, Kelly Fontenot Dougherty and husband, Jordan of Sugarland, TX, Kellen Blake McInnis and wife, Ashley of Stonewall, Hannah Elese McInnis of Shreveport, and Skylar Jordan Selman of Moore, OK; and four great grandchildren-Margaret "Meg" Dorr, Alice-Ann Dorr, Mary Dorr and Konnor McInnis.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents-Easton J. Bergeron and Elvie Linscomb Bergeron; her husband-Morris Joseph Fontenot; and her son-David Fontenot.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Richard Edwards and Dr. Lam Nguyen, M.D. Homecare Network, Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, all of the nursing staff at Jennings American Legion Hospital, and her caregivers, Janet Young and Mandi D. Langley.
