Elton-A Mass of Christian Burial for Joyce F. Courville, 96, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at St. Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 9 a.m. until time of service. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m.

Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Leo, for forty-five years until his passing in June of 1988. She adored her family and loved spending time with them. She loved her sister very much and was always very close to her. Joyce was a woman of strong faith and very proud of her Catholic faith. She was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church for seventy-two years where she was very active and devoted. Joyce was also a member of Ladies Altar Society and a Eucharistic minister. She attended daily mass and would bring communion to the shut-ins, as well as, the nursing home and the hospital for over forty years. Joyce enjoyed traveling, sewing, cooking, drinking coffee and spending time with her friends. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Joyce's memory include her son, Larry Courville of Lafayette; daughter, Sherry C. Musumeche and husband, Michael, of New Iberia; one brother-in-law, Leroy Courville and wife, Jean, of Friendworth, TX; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; as well as, a host of nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Ellen Fusilier; husband, Leo Paul Courville; and one sister, Lois Doherty.
