Elton-Funeral service for Josephine "Joey" Landry Chatelain, 72, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Ardoin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph #2 Cemetery in Rayne under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 with the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Joey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a people person and always full of life. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and just being outdoors. In her younger years she enjoyed riding horses through the woods. Joey worked at Capital One in Elton for twenty five plus years as a personal banker from which she retired. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Martin, for fifteen years. Joey was a woman of strong faith. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Joey's memory include her husband, Martin Chatelain of Elton; two daughters, Brenda Moore and husband, Troy, of Elton, Pattie Nail and husband, Mike, of Jennings; two step-sons, Martin Chatelain III and wife, Erin, of Lafayette and Walter Chatelain of Lafayette; one sister, Rose Marie Johnson and husband, Curvin, of Basile; four grandchildren, Brock Moore, Reagan Moore, Jayce Moore, and Emma Chatelain; and one great grandchild, Camden Moore.
Joey is preceded in death by her parents, James Sr. and Moza Landry; one brother, James Landry Jr.; and two sisters, Leona Tramel and Jeanette Bertrand.
