Oberlin-Graveside services honoring Joseph Allen Veazey, 58, will be held at 2 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, January 14, 2026, at Oaklin Springs Cemetery in Oberlin. Rev. Don Duplechain will officiate. All of Joseph’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.

Joseph affectionately called “Joey” by all who knew him a very kind and compassionate person who never met a stranger. He was a very selfless person and would help anyone in need. Joey had a profound love for his mother, but especially loved his children. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and always asked how everyone was doing. Some of Joey’s favorite past time included working on automobiles and dining out. He had many friends and loved to sit on his porch, drink coffee and Dr. Pepper, and visit with them and talk about old times and “cutting up”. Joey was a talker and would talk to anyone who would listen. He will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Joey’s memory include his wife, Mickelle Lynn Veazey; two daughters, Misty, and Nikki Veazey; one sister, Paula Veazey Bergeaux; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Phillip and Lois Veazey; one brother, Philip Earl Veazey Jr., and one sister, Rhonda Kay Veazey Galligan.
