Obituary

Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Joseph Lee Lofton, 40, will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Oakdale. Rev. Brian Johnson and Rev. Nay Vickers will officiate. Joseph will be laid to rest at Buck Martin Cemetery in Pitkin immediately following his services.

Joseph's family will receive friends and visitors at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Oakdale on Sunday evening, March 24, 2024 from 2-10 o'clock p.m. Joseph's visitation will resume at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Oakdale on Monday morning, March 25, 2024 from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Joseph's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Joseph was a special young man who loved to "cut up" and be happy all the time. He was loved very much by his parents and all who knew him. Joseph enjoyed going to church and was a faithful member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Oakdale where he attended church regularly and where he was loved and adored by his church family. Joseph loved everyone he met. He was an angel in everyone's lives that knew him. Joseph will be greatly missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Joseph's memory include his parents, Marvin and Deleta McCluskey, paternal father, John T. Lofton III; one brother, John T. Lofton IV; one sister, Johnnie Renee King; five nephews, Ryan McCluskey, Jaryn, Anthony Manuel, Andrew and Wade King; and one niece, Kayleigh Manuel, and a host of other nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Joseph is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gerald, and Rita McCluskey; paternal grandparents, John ll and Gladys Lofton, and Mason and Lois Vickers; and one niece, Kyleigh Manuel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Down Syndrome Association or the Gideons in Joseph's memory.

Pallbearers honored to serve are, Junior Willis, Layton Doyle, George Manuel, Ryan McCluskey, Anthony and Jaryn Manuel, and Kayleigh Manuel will carry Bible.
