Elton-Funeral service for Joseph Lawrence Langley, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton from 4-8:30 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 with the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Lawrence was a loving husband, brother, and uncle. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Evana, for 61 years until her passing in June 2008. He always worked very hard and enjoyed every minute of it. Lawrence loved the outdoors. He liked cooking and could make the best barbecue. He was a lifelong resident of Elton. Lawrence enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews all the while spoiling them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Lawrence's memory include his two sisters, Elizabeth Manuel of Basile and Pearl LaFleur of Elton; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, James and Sedonia Langley; spouse, Evana Sonnier Langley; two brothers, Allie Langley and Leston Langley; and three sisters, Ella Duplechain, Hazel Sonnier, and Esther Young.
