Kinder-Funeral service for Joseph E. "Joey" Walker, Jr., age 60, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.  Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate.  Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder from 3 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018.  A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. followed by the Holy Rosary.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Joey was born in Kinder and lived most of his life in Kinder.  He was a 1975 graduate of Kinder High School where he developed lifelong friendships.  Joey loved the game of baseball and as a young adult began avidly supporting the Kinder Youth Baseball program.  He coached many of the children in the Kinder area even before he had children of his own.  Joey was always proud to follow the development and successes of his players.  Joey's greatest accomplishment was his children.  He was an amazing father who dedicated his life to raising his sons.  Joey was a very devoted and loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Those left to cherish Joey's memory are his children-Brandon Walker of Kinder, PFC Ryan Walker (fiancée, Jordan Moss) currently serving in the United States Marines in Paris Island, SC, and his daughter, Joanna Chiasson and husband, Matt, of Sulphur; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Jayden, Chance, and Conner; his loving mother, Wanda Walker, of Kinder; two brothers-Jerry Paul Walker and wife, Becky, of Kinder, and Steve Walker and wife, Kendra, of McKinney, TX; two sisters-Pam Tarasiewicz and husband, David, of Sulphur, and Tammy Walker, of Kinder; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Joey is preceded in death by his father, Joseph E. Walker, Sr.; one grandson, Blake Chiasson; and his grandparents, Red and Thelma Walker and Aby and Oxida Sonnier.
