Joseph, affectionately called Joe, by all who knew him, was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, and friend to all. He loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren, and he cherished every memory he made with them. Joe loved "piddling" with anything he could, although some things he put his hands on would likely never work again. He was an avid outdoorsman and a true cowboy, where he loved to ride horses and enjoyed riding bulls. Guess who got the better end of the bull riding. Always the Bull. Joe was a kind and caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish Joe's memory include his mother, Wilma Devore Sweat; his wife, Bonita Sweat; one son, Joseph Casey Sweat and wife Penny, two daughters, Jenifer "Freddie" Sweat Dellinger and husband Preston, and Brittany Jaye "B.J." Sweat, one stepson, Matthew Schilling, one stepdaughter, Tessa "Hector" Wallis and husband Jack; one brother, Rodney Leo Sweat and wife Pamela, two sisters, Ileen Sweat Buller and husband Randy, and Bethel Sweat Hermes; six grandchildren, Cassidy, Garret, and Paley Sweat, Avari and Arlee Sweat, and Madeline Dellinger, one great granddaughter, Ayda Sweat, two step grandchildren, Paycee Velez and M.J. Schilling; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Beathel Sweat; one grandson, Clayton Glen Sweat; and one brother-in-law, Tom Hermes.
