Kinder-Funeral service for Joseph Russell Darbonne, Jr., age 82, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Kinder Bible Church. Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Kinder Bible Church on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Joseph was a member of Kinder Bible Church. He was a retired Reeves High School principal, administrator of Allen Parish Hospital, as well as an academic educator at Sowela Technical College.
Those left to cherish Joseph's memory include his devoted wife of 63 years, Gayle Houston Darbonne, of Kinder; one son, Joseph Russell (Trey) Darbonne III, of Kinder; one sister, Jeanette Langley, of Kinder; three grandchildren, Olivia, Sophie, and Brock Darbonne, all of Rome, GA; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and former students.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Russell, Sr. and Blanche Reeves Darbonne.
