Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Jon Sidney "Sid" Johnson, 66, will be held at 10 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Oakdale.  Rev. Brian Johnson will officiate. Sid will be laid to rest at Cryer Cemetery in Oakdale immediately following his services.

Sid's family will receive friends and visitors at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Oakdale, on Tuesday evening, July 2, 2024, from 4-8 o'clock p.m. Sid's visitation will resume at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Oakdale on Wednesday morning, July 3, 2024, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Sid's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Jon Sidney "Sid" Johnson, a life-long resident of Oakdale, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, after a 2-year illness. Sid was born on May 27, 1958, to Robert L. Johnson and Doris Whitley Johnson Gates. After graduating from Oakdale High School, Sid began his working life in the Louisiana maritime industry. In 1991, he earned his electrical and HVAV credentials through Central Louisiana Technical College and founded Johnson's Heating and Air Conditioning business. Sid grew his business over the next three decades, serving the people of Allen and surrounding parishes. Beyond business, Sid was quick to contribute his labor and equipment to help others, whether friend or stranger. Sid met and married Angela Wiggins in May 2005. Both Angie and Sid loved the outdoors and spent many quality hours with family and friends at their lake cabin. Sid was a general aviation pilot, hunter, and fisherman. A man of strong faith, Sid is a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, whose members he loved and considered family.

Besides Angie and his parents, Sid is survived by brothers Bob Johnson (Jane) of Peachtree City, Georgia, Bruce Johnson (Wanda) of Oakdale, and sister Jennifer Simon (Charles) of Pine Prairie. Sid and Angie have 3 children: daughters Kayla Ranai Johnson of Oakdale, Tara Lynn Johnson of Tucson, AZ, and son Lance Raider Hardman (Emily) of New Caney, Texas. Sid loved his grandchildren: Sariya Janai Johnson, Kamryn White, Karmyn White, Sammi White, Connor Padilla, Elliott Weaver, Jorja Weaver, Brooks Hardman, Creed Hardman, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Mike Welch, Joseph Stalsby, Jacob Gueringer, Derek Johnson, Nick Marcantel, Wyatt Nesom, Cole Nesom, Lance Hardman, and Storm Stalsby.

Honorary "Roundtable" pallbearers are Dr. Don Nesom, Todd Nesom, Mark Stalsby, Donnie Welch, David Gunter, Brandon Winfrey, Trampis Williamson, Bill Smith, Ken Kelly, and Dennis Jones.
