Kinder-Funeral Services for Johnny Hammonds, 61, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Johnny was born in Kinder and lived there until he was six years old. He thought Kinder was like the Garden of Eden. Johnny was a loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather. He loved his family with a passion. Johnny was so proud of his son, Johnny Alex, and all of his beautiful grandbabies. Johnny was a perfectionist when it came to his craft. He loved the creativity of construction and was known throughout his working community for his expertise. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Johnny's memory include his mother, Jane Alice Pitre Withers; wife, Rosa Darlene Hammonds; son, Johnny Alex Hammonds; three brothers, Frank Hammonds, Gary Withers and Mike Withers; four sisters, Debra Frazier, Robin Hammonds, Connie Barr and Kathy Boudreaux; and four grandchildren.

Johnny is preceded in death by his father, George W. Hammonds, Jr.; step-father, James Paul Withers; one sister, Paula Withers Clare; and grandparents, Elzie Joseph Pitre, Lovina M. Pitre, George Hammonds and Pearl Hammonds.
