Elton-Funeral service for John Garrique Treme, 52, will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 10am at St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton. Father Charles McMillin and Deacon Mike Tramel will officiate the service and burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 2-10pm in Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel of Elton with a rosary being recited at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, May 27, 2013 from 8am until time of service.
Garrique is a graduate of Elton High School-Class of 1979. He farmed rice and soybeans for several years along with his father, John Treme. He was a structural superintendent for various companies for years before going to work as a sight superintendent for ten years at Turner Industries of Lake Charles. Garrique loved to cook for friends and family, golf and fish. And, hunting was his favorite past time. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother-Loretta Treme Doise of Elton; one son-Cody Treme of Sulphur; one daughter-Jade Treme of Elton; two brothers-Robbie Treme and wife, Cindy of Deridder and Jayme Treme and wife, Sharon of Church Point; two sisters- Terra Young of Basile and Jeanette Lejeune and husband, Tommy of Hathaway; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Garrique is preceded in death by his father-John E. Treme; one sister-Penny Treme Thomas; his paternal grandparents-Walter and Felecia Treme; and, his maternal grandparents-Clegg and Etta Chaumont.
