John W. Sonnier

Kinder-Memorial  Services for John Walter Sonnier, 76, will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Kingsfarm United Pentecostal Church. Rev. Steve Haymon will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Ardoin/ Allen Parish Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Elton at a later date.

The family will receive visitors beginning Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 11am until time of service at Kingsfarm United Pentecostal Church.

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He loved the mountains in Colorado and loved animals especially his dog , "Little Bit." He enjoyed working with horses, "pittling" with things and spending time with his family.  John was a man of strong faith and attended Kingsfarm Pentecostal Church for the past twelve years.  He delivered meals to the elderly for the Council on Aging for 15 years.   He made it his personal goal to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and accomplished that goal on Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Those left to cherish John's  memory include his loving wife, Billie Jo Sonnier;  two sons,  Johnny Sonnier of Indiana and Randy Sonnier of Tacoma Washington; three daughters, Tammy Brock of John Day, Oregon,  Gayle Kuhn and husband, Kevin of Elton, Samantha Gonzales and husband Tony of Farmington, New Mexico; three brothers, Gerald Sonnier of Elton,  Eddie Robert Sonnier and wife, Judy of Orange Texas, Burel Sonnier and wife Katrina of Elton; one sister, Louise Matte and husband Mike of Elton;  and eleven grandchildren. He will greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Eseary Sonnier and brother Joseph Willard Sonnier.
