Kinder-John Bernard Richard passed away on Christmas Day, 2017, at the age of 57. A resident of Indian Village, he worked in many restaurants in California, Oregon, Louisiana and Maui, Hawaii, where he met his loving wife of 24 years, Melanie. He was an excellent chef who gained the respect of his co-workers due to his hard work and abilities.
John is survived by his wife, Melanie, his father, Berchman Richard and Francy, of Alexandria, his mother, Marilyn Dartez Richard of Kentucky, his brother, Brett Richard and Lilly of Round Rock, Texas; and a host of cousins and loved ones.
John was a natural born cook and a tender heart. Everyone who met him loved him. When he was younger, he survived a terrible motorcycle accident which left him with terrible injuries that took many years to overcome. But overcome them he did, and did not let them interfere with his career. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder from 11 a.m. until a 1 p.m. celebration of life. In accordance with his wishes, John wished to be an organ donor and elected to be cremated.
