Elton- Funeral service for Mr. John Ory Fontenot, 82, will be held Friday, November 27, 2009 at 1:00pm in Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. Deacon John Eaves will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 10am until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 11am.
Mr. Fontenot lived most of his life in Elton and was a resident of Lake Charles. He was a US Army Veteran and served his country during the Korean War. He was also a charter member of the American Legion for over 60 years. Mr. Fontenot passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Estelle Fontenot; one daughter, Anna Fontenot Ezell & husband Glen of Lake Charles; two brothers, Odis Fontenot & wife June of Sulphur, Wilmer Fontenot & wife Anna Lee of Eunice; two sisters, Anna Fontenot Manuel of Kinder & Bertella Young of New Iberia; 2 grandchildren, Michael Ezell & Angela Ezell Hunter; one great grandson, Nathaniel Jason Hunter.
Mr. Fontenot is preceded in death by his parents, Theogian & Louisa Fontenot and his sister, Lovenia Breaux.
