Oberlin-Funeral service will be held for John Anthony Carrier, 59, in the chapel of Allen Parish Funeral Home-Oberlin at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014. Rev. Don Duplechain will officiate. All arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Parish Funeral Home-Oberlin Chapel.
The family will receive visitors at Allen Parish Funeral Home, 119 S. 7th St, on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 10 a.m. until time of service.
John, affectionately known as "Doc", was a loving father and grandfather. He always enjoyed his job offshore, which he retired from after 20 years of service. He always worked hard to provide for his family. Spending time with his family was always his favorite. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He liked to cook, as well. Easter was his favorite holiday. Doc liked to "laugh and play" and his most cherished moments were those spent with his four-year-old grandson, Beau.
Those left to mourn his loss include his daughter, Megan Carrier, of Oberlin; two brothers, Oris Carrier and wife, Pat, and Gary Carrier, all of Oberlin; and, one grandchild.
Doc is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Faye Carrier; and two brothers, Kirk and Jerald Carrier.
