Elton-Funeral service for John Dutile DeRosier II, 58, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at St. Paul Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until time of service on Friday, March 16, 2018.
John was a loving father and grandfather. He retired from the United States Marine Corps after being in the service for 22 years. He served in Iraq during the Operation Desert Storm Invasion. John also served in Afghanistan. He loved being outdoors, fishing, and turkey hunting. He also enjoyed teaching others how to turkey hunt. John was a caring, giving, good man, and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish John's memory include his daughter, Johna Irene DeRosier of Elton; one sister, Angela Marie DeRosier of Elton; three granddaughters, MáLeah Irene DeRosier, Natalie Marsheá Cesar, and Gabriella Alexa Rochelle DeRosier, all of Elton.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John D. DeRosier and Irene H. DiPasquale DeRosier; paternal grandparents, Dutile DeRosier and Maude Moreau DeRosier; and maternal grandparents, Bill and Helen DiPasquale.
