Obituary

Elton-Funeral services for Mr. John Bertrand, age 71, will be held on Wednesday,
May 4, 2011 at 10am in St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Marshall Boulet will
Officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of
Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
Visitation will begin in Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton on Tuesday, May 3, 2011
from 4-9pm with a rosary being recited at 6:30pm.
John was a loving husband for 24 years and a dedicated father. He was a
carpenter and draftsmen engineer with Davidson Sash & Door for many years.
He was also a Scout Master for many years. Everyone knew him as a gifted
wildlife artist. He created many beautiful works of art including the 1995-96
Louisiana State Duck Stamp. He moved to New Mexico to fulfill his dream of
living in the mountains. He was a devoted Christian and will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Bertrand; two sons, John Donald (Tenita)
Bertrand II of Ragley, Daniel Damian (Carla) Bertrand of Jennings, Jude
Bertrand of Cloudcroft, NM; and five daughters, Carmen Angela (Mark) Elmore of
Mannsville, NY, Belinda Caswell of Welsh, Rachael Murray of Taunton, Mass.,
Mary (Landon) Parker of Alamogordo, NM, and Maggie Bertrand of
Alamogordo, NM; two sisters, Peggy Smith of Elton, Barbara Deshotel of
Elton; and sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Maxiel & Vida Bertrand; and
daughter Theresa Hope Bertrand.
