Kinder-Funeral Services for Joan Walker, 74, will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Shannon Fontenot will officiate. Burial will follow at Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time of service. ***Please note, due to state mandates, a face covering is required inside and social distancing must be maintained throughout your visit. ***

Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Willie, for fifty-two years until his passing in February 2018. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, traveling and cleaning. Joan also enjoyed taking care of her little dog, Brownie. She worked very hard as a nurse's aide to help provide for her family until her well-deserved retirement. Joan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Joan's memory include her two sons, Kevin and Keith Walker both of Kinder; one stepson, Willie Paul Walker; three daughters, Judy Credeur and husband, Bo, of Kinder, Sherry Fontenot and husband, Shannon, of Kinder and Wendy Manuel and husband, Scott, of Kinder; one brother, John Henry Willis of Sulphur; two sisters, Kathleen Eastwood of Kinder and Dorothy Johnson of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Anley and Joan Ryder; husband, Willie Walker; and one sister, Tammy George.
