Kinder-Funeral service for Jimmy Ortego, 63, will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic
Church. Rev. Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home from 3-10 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014. A Vigil Service will be held at 6 p.m. followed by the Rosary. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Jimmy enjoyed his work with Quality Equipment John Deere of Welsh. He loved the outdoors, especially archery, hunting and training horses. He also enjoyed music, playing the guitar and dancing. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son. He was a great friend to all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and loyal wife, Aline Ortego of Reeves; his devoted mother, Joycelyn Thacker of Reeves; three daughters, Charity Sonnier and husband, Byron of Kinder, Heather Ortego Key of Lake Charles, and Mindi Kesterson of Euless, TX; and 5 grandchildren-Carmen, Aidan, Austin, Christian and Lexie.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Bob Ortego.
