Carol Bushnell will officiate. Entombment will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery Mausoleum under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 5-9 p.m. with a singing service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Jimmy was born to Andrew and Lena (Bedwell) Hutchinson in Wade, Oklahoma.  He lived his formative years in Oklahoma until he married a Louisiana woman (Maxine Dugas), and moved south.  He loved her family as much as a blood relative.  His father-in-law (Cleve Dugas) and Chester Bushnell took on special roles in his life.

His hobbies included bird watching, vegetable growing and coffee drinking. He was an avid reader and storyteller who made everyday life as interesting as reading a novel.  He traveled throughout the United States in his camper visiting with friends and relatives.  He was brave enough to teach his kids/grandkids to drive and live to tell the tale. He also invented the concept of putting things back together and having lots of spare parts probably belonging in whatever he was tinkering on.  He had an amazing sense of humor and always found a way to crack a joke, even when he was in pain. Those who know him can vouch for the fact that he never met a stranger.

He worked as a dump truck driver, milkman, bread deliverer, furniture mover, wildcat oil field, airline mechanic and retired after 30 years working for Hunt Oil Company.

Those left to cherish Jimmy's memory include his children, Jimmy Dean Hutchinson and wife, Debbie, of Oklahoma City, OK, Michael Hutchinson and companion, Cheryl, of Klamath Falls, OR, Darla Thompson and husband, Jarrod, of Elton, LA, Kevin Hutchinson and wife, Christiana, of  Westlake, LA, Tanya Moore and husband, Cody, of  High Island, TX; one brother, Otis Gayle Hutchinson, of  Bixby, OK; one sister, Sherry Hagle and husband, Roger, of Sebastian, FL; seven grandchildren, Melissa Hutchinson and husband, Jonathan Fisher, of  Broken Arrow, OK; Terry Paul Stoute and wife, Melanie, of Bossier City, LA, Nikki Thompson of  Lake Charles, LA, Megan Thompson of Lafayette, LA, Arielle Reed of Leblanc, LA, Conner Hutchinson of Westlake, LA, and Emma Jean Hutchinson of Westlake, LA; eight great-grandchildren, Heidi, Alaina, Noah, and Vivian Stoute, Westley Hutchinson, Ender Fisher, Luna Hutchinson and Danika Belle Miles.

He had many nephews and nieces that loved him dearly.

He was a beloved dad, papa, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend that will be missed greatly.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Hutchinson and Lena Mildred (Bedwell) Hutchinson; his loving wife of 51 years, Maxine (Dugas) Hutchinson; three sons, Terry Wayne Hutchinson, Timothy Ron Hutchinson and Jackie Lee Hutchinson; and one brother, Ronald Maxwell Hutchinson.
