Kinder- Funeral service for Mrs. Jessie Lee Sanders, 89, will be held Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Kinder United Methodist Church. Rev. Truman Stagg will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held Saturday in Ardoin Funeral Home from 3pm-7pm and will continue Sunday in Kinder United Methodist Church from 1pm until time of service.
Mrs. Sanders was a resident of Kinder, a 1936 graduate of Kinder High School and a member of Kinder United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Pine Grove Chapter 106, and served as secretary and worthy matron. From 1955 until 1967 she was the secretary at Kinder High School and was also the bookkeeper for Cappel's Drug Store for many years. Mrs. Sanders passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna LaFleur & husband Daryl Durvin LaFleur of Sulphur, Kay Ardoin & husband Bill Ardoin of Ville Platte; one sister, Georgia Ann Stevens of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; 6 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband, W.M. "Jake" Sanders; 5 brothers & 3 sisters.
