Oakdale- Funeral service for Jesse (J.L.) Willis, Jr., 80, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Gospel Light House. Rev. James Vandergrift and Rev. Shannon Buxton will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. at Gospel Light House and will resume there on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Jesse was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. He retired from Local 692 Pipeline where he worked for many years to provide for his family. He loved gardening and his fruit trees which included oranges and tangerines. He was a devoted Christian and attended The Gospel Lighthouse for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Delilah S. Willis; two sons, Jesse Alan Willis and wife, Dena, and Steven Paul Willis; one daughter, Mary Paulette Holcombe and husband, Charles Jr.; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Willis and Rosie McDaniel Willis; three sisters, Rosaline Willis, Inez Paul, and Callie Reed.
