Jerry was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana, raised in Pawnee and completed his education at Glenmora High School. Meeting his wife, Vivian, as a teenager they soon began a loving marriage which spanned 59 years of complete devotion.  Together they raised three children; Jody, Darla Lynn and Jerry Gene with unwavering love and support. Jerry was a genuine, self-made man. He began his career as a heavy equipment operator and soon became a certified Ford mechanic, as well as a master welder. Jerry also owned and operated an automotive and heavy equipment repair business. He spent the remainder of his career working in the oil and gas industry for over 30 years of faithful service and eventually retired from Baker Hughes.

Jerry was also a servant to his community. In his hometown community of Forest Hill, Louisiana he served as Town Alderman, Deputy Police Officer and was elected as Chief of Police. Jerry also assisted when called upon for the Louisiana State Police Department.

Jerry loved the Lord and showed this tirelessly through his servant's heart. In his spare time, he would handle anything you asked him to and was always happy to lend a hand to family, friends and community. Jerry served as a deacon at First Baptist Church Rosehill, Tomball, TX and First Baptist Church of Tomball. Jerry was a Mason and a proud member of Forest Hill Masonic Lodge #254 F&AM and also achieved 32nd Degree Shriner.

Jerry was adventurous, inventive, and a true problem solver. His hobbies and interests ranged from outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting to fixing anything that was broke. When he was younger he loved to roller skate and dance and could "Jitter Bug" with the best. Jerry loved to tell jokes, especially "CAJUN" jokes and enjoyed telling his stories from the past. He would have everyone in the room laughing as he told tales. He enjoyed bringing a smile to everyone's face. He loved all of his family with his whole heart.  He was so loved and will be missed by all.
