Kinder-Memorial Services celebrating the life of Jerry D. McClelland, Sr., 76, will be held at 6 p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Thursday, June 25, 2020. Reverends Robert Kratzer, Sigmund and Leldon Richard will officiate. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Thursday, June 25, 2020 beginning at 5 p.m. until time of service.

Paw J was a loving husband, father, brother, grand-and great grandfather. A devoted husband to his wife, Linda, for fifty-six years, he worked very hard as an engineer to provide for his family. Paw will be remembered for his love and excellence in hunting, fishing, cooking and carpentry. He always made sure to hand down his love for these skills to his children. He was "as hard as a pine knot with Daddy-hands". Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Jerry's memory include his wife, Linda H. McClelland; one son, Jerry D. McClelland, Jr., and wife, Mary Jane, of

Walkersville, MD; two daughters, Sherri M. Cruz and husband, Ben, of Moss Bluff and Catherine Plattsmier and husband, Todd, of Ragley; two brothers, Winfred McClelland of Illinois and James McClelland and wife, Donna, of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, Ben and Darren Cruz, Justin, Maegan and Jarred Guidry, Amber Fontenot, Alanie McCulloch, Anne Catherine Plattsmier and Taylor Shae McClelland, along with 18 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Brode and Audrey McClelland.
