Welsh-Funeral services for Jermaine "Jay" Jones, 49, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church in Welsh. Rev. Jerry Jackson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at East Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at New Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Jay was a Welsh High School graduate and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He worked in construction for a living. Jay enjoyed working on motorcycles and trucks, horseback and trail riding and in his youth playing baseball. He cherished spending time with his family and friends and taking care of his dog, Girlie. Jay will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Jay's memory include his four brothers, Cleveland Lee Jones, Jr. of Welsh, Eddie Dean Jones and wife, Latonya, of Jennings, Cornell Jones of Welsh and Richard Vital of Welsh; two sisters, Eva Jean Wyble and husband, Eric, and Jeannell Jones, both of Welsh; and his dear friend, Gilbert Duhe of Fenton.

Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Jones, Sr. and Jeanette Jones; maternal grandparents, Lucille and Nichols Jackson; paternal grandparents, Odeal and Clarence Achane; and niece, Erica Jeanette Wyble.
