Obituary

Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Jerald Willis, 72, will be held at 11 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Tony Robinson will officiate. Jerald will be laid to rest at Cryer Cemetery in Oakdale immediately following his services.

Jerald's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2024, from 3-10 o'clock p.m. Jerald's visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Wednesday morning, May 29, 2024, from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Jerald's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Jerald was an amazing father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who loved his family dearly. He worked at Buddy's IGA Grocery for 40+ years. Jerald worked with many throughout the years, and he was like family to all who knew him. He was a hard worker and was passionate about his job. Jerald always had a smile on his face and greeted everyone with a smile. He loved spending time with family and friends. Jerald loved camping and cooking for his friends while they were hunting. He had a passion for old cars and was very proud of his 1949 Plymouth he received on Father's Day June 21,2015. Jerald was a wonderful person and will be forever missed and loved unconditionally by all that knew him.

Those left to cherish Jerald's memory include the mother of his children, Julie Willis Tyler; one son, Jerald Willis Jr., two daughters, Melissa Willis, and Angela Stoute and husband Mark, one stepdaughter, Tiffany Fetty, and fiancé Joe; one brother, Larry Willis and wife "Daurice", three sisters, Linda Doyal, Betty Willis, and Judy Tackett and husband Roger, sixteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.

Jerald is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Willie Mae Willis, his stepmother, Eunice Willis, his stepfather, Chuck; two brothers-in-law, Charles Willis, and Ernest Doyal; one granddaughter, Megan Wilson; one step granddaughter, Karen Stoute; one cousin/special friend, Gene Willis; and two nephews, Charles Edward Willis; and Rocky Bloodsworth.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Devin Willis, Cameron Wilson, Jerald Willis III, Ricky Willis, Lamar Dousay, and William Sumbler.

Honorary pallbearer honored to serve is Brian Thompson.

Jerald's family would like to extend a very special thank you to Brighton Bridge Hospice for all their love, care, and compassion that was shown to him while in their care.
