Kinder-Funeral service for Jeanette Manuel, 90, will be held Saturday,
September 17, 2011 at 2pm in First Baptist Church of Elton. Rev. Pat
Thomas of First Baptist Church of Elton and Rev. Terry Bushnell of Indian
Village United Pentecostal Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter
Cemetery in Kinder.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 16, 2011 from 6-9pm
in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder and continue Saturday from 10am
until time of service in First Baptist Church of Elton.
Jeanette was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elton. She taught
Women's Senior Adult Bible Class for several years and enjoyed helping at
Vacation Bible School and participated in Samaritan's Purse Operation
Christmas Child. She loved to read , especially her bible and she
prayed daily. She loved her family and enjoyed her grandkids and baking
oatmeal cookies and sandies for them.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Taveney and wife Sandra of
Lake Charles; two daughters, Mary Taveney Basile of Indianapolis, IN,
and Jeannie Smith and husband Mike of Kinder; and one sister, Dorothy
Little of Mesa, AZ; and seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren;
and four great-great grandchildren.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Lee Taveney;
her second husband, Felman "Sac" Manuel; and one grandchild, Steven
Taveney.
