Oakdale-Funeral Services for Jean Doyle McHenry James, 87, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oakdale. Father Vijaya Peddoju will officiate. Burial will follow in Willis Flat Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors Friday, March 29, 2019 from 5-10 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Visitation will resume Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Jean was a loving mother to her children, praying for them each day. She prayed her Rosary daily, always waking with them in her hands. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. In Jean's earlier days she liked to sew, work on her family tree, and make her wine. Mama has now gone to meet daddy and all of her family that have gone before her.

Those left to cherish Jean's memory include her son, David Louis McHenry (Blenda) of Baskin, La; two daughters, Diana McHenry Bolmarcich (Bob) of Oakdale, and Cindy McHenry Odom (Delbert) of Plainview community; one sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Blocker of Oakdale; six grandchildren; and twenty one great grandchildren.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Martha Doyle; spouses, Louis McHenry, the father of her children, and Elray James; two brothers, Arthur and Edward Wayne Doyle; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Carter and Jackie Hendricks.

Pallbearers honored to serve are: Alan Odom, Lane Johnson, John Johnson, Jeff Blocker, Richard Blocker, and Nicholas Blocker.
