Elton-A Mass of Christian Burial honoring, Jean Marie Gobert, 62, will be held at 10 o'clock a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Elton. Rev. Fr. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Jean will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Elton immediately following her services.

Jean's family will receive friends and visitors at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Elton on Saturday morning, November 2, 2024, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Jean's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.

Jean was a faithful and devoted wife to her husband Steven until his passing. Whether it was playing games, designing arts and crafts, sewing, gardening, or decorating, Jean had a great attention to detail and was always willing to share her gifts with others. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, and never missed an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments or lavish them with attention. Making them laugh or encouraging them to keep the faith during difficult times, Jean found joy in creating special memories with each of them. Jean will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish Jean's memory include three sons, Nathaniel Edwards of Deweyville, TX, and Horace and Steve Edwards of Elton, LA; siblings, Jerry Edwards and wife Cathy, June Edwards and wife Laura, and Venice and John Edwards; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Gobert; her parents, Bernice and Dorothy Mitchell Edwards; and one sister, Anna Soileau.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Nathaniel Edwards, Johnny Edwards, Davien Edwards, Horace Edwards Jr., and Horace Edwards Sr., and Tavien Edwards.
