Janis Cluteel Johnson Moreau was born on Tuesday, August 31, 1937, to the union of Forest and Daisy Johnson. She was a devoted wife of 60 years to her husband Leroy Moreau, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt. A proud matriarch of two sets of 5 generations.

Janis was a caretaker of her children, she took care of the elderly, drove a school bus, worked at Dry Creek Camp, and was a lifelong member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Fishing, playing basketball with her children, working in her garden, sewing, camping, and decorating cakes were just some of her passions. She spent her free time making memories with her family and her sweetest moments were alongside her children. She poured her love into her family and had a special way of making life sweeter.

Memories of Janis as a beautiful soul will live on for generations through her family. She may be gone from sight, but she will live on in the hearts of many family members and friends.

Those left to cherish Janis’s memory include her two sons, Lamar Moreau (Rhonda) of Oberlin, LA. and Kerwin Moreau (Rhonda) of Kinder, LA.; one daughter, Johnette Hill (Rick) of Dry Creek, LA.; two sisters, Patsy Meaux (Leeroy) of Oberlin, LA. And Betty Harper of Kinder, LA.; sixteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Janis is preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Daisy Johnson; her husband, LeRoy Moreau; two sons, Lance and Realious Moreau; one daughter, Delores Holden; and one brother, Gary Johnson.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Mickey Moreau, Brian Hill, Ronald Spears Jr., Christian Spears, Joey Moreau, Jacob Jubert, Jared Jubert, and Quinton Holden. Honorary pallbearers will be Kullen Hebert and Norman Moreau.
