Kinder-Funeral service for Janis M. Gauthreaux, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at The Grand Church. Rev. Paul Cavenah will officiate. Burial will follow at Carter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 5-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Janis was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Murphy, for 65 years until his passing in December of 2017. She was a very hard worker. Janis was a very giving person and would help anyone in need. She enjoyed working in her yard, growing flowers, and fishing. Janis enjoyed spending time with her family. She attended The Grand Church for 30 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Janis's memory include her son, Murphy Keith Gauthreaux of Kinder; one daughter, Vera Chaumont of Kinder; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Janis is preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Vera Morgan; spouse, Murphy Gauthreaux; and two brothers, Archie "Bee" and Buford "Son" Morgan.
