Ragley-Celebration of Life services honoring Janie Eleanor Burnett, 68, will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2025, at Dry Creek Bible Church in Dry Creek, LA. Rev. Sam Burchard will officiate. Janie will be laid to rest at Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, LA immediately following her services.
Janie's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Saturday evening, March 8, 2025, from 5-9 o'clock pm. Janie's visitation will resume at Dry Creek Bible Church in Dry Creek, LA on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 1 o'clock p.m. until time of service. All of Janie's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.
Janie Burnett, 68, of Reeves, LA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 4, 2025, and was born on July 1, 1956, in Rolla, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Ray Jensen and Phyllis Hudson. Janie spent her early years in North Dakota, and then later moved to Corpus Christi, TX before settling in Reeves, LA with her husband of 46 years, Gary Burnett. She was a devoted, caring, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In her well-deserved retirement, Janie lived for her children and grandchildren, and her profound love for them was apparent to all who knew her. Janie was a great friend and made many friendships throughout her different careers at Allen Parish Hospital and Reeves High School. She was a very loving and caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Janie's memory include her husband, Gary Burnett; one son, Blaine Burnett, and wife Ruby, one daughter, Lindsey Weaver and husband Tyler; two brothers, Todd Jensen and wife Julie and Steven Jensen and wife Erin, one sister, Annie Hudson Johnson and husband Clint; five grandchildren, Jack, Shaun, Greyson, Cody, and Benji; her very special friend, Helen Knox; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Janie is preceded in death by her father, Ray Jensen and her mother and stepfather, Phyllis, and Bob Hudson.
