Oberlin-Funeral service for Timmy Chaumont, 52, will be held at 11am
Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Allen Parish Funeral Home-Oberlin Chapel, 119 South 7th Street, Oberlin, Louisiana. Rev. Leon Fontenot will officiate the service and burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Soileau under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at Allen Parish Funeral Home from 9am-9pm on Monday, November 19, 2012 and will continue on Tuesday from 8am until time of service.
Timmy was a lifelong resident of Oberlin. He was Justice of the Peace for Ward 1 of Allen Parish and he was also employed with Allen Parish Correctional Center since its inception several years ago. "Sergeant Chaumont" was highly respected by his colleagues as well as inmates. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He especially loved deer hunting. He was a big football fan, his favorite team being the Saints. Mardi Gras was something he looked forward to every year, as well. He served as Captain of the Oberlin Mardi Gras Association which he was a member of for many years. He had a great love for his brothers and sisters as well as his many friends and family. One of his favorite past times was listening to his police scanner-making sure to keep close tabs on his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his mother, Sybil Young Anding, his father, Clegg Chaumont, Jr. and wife, JoEllen of Oberlin; one daughter, Jessica Chaumont of Lake Charles; two brothers, Nicky Chaumont and wife, Shanna of Basile and Tre' Chaumont and wife, Jessica of Kinder; three sisters, Jody Tilley and husband, Bryan of Kinder, Pam Chaumont and friend, Olin of Oberlin, and JayDene Chaumont of Oberlin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Timmy is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clegg and Etta Chaumont, Sr. and his maternal grandparents, Rovelia and Gladys Young.
