Reeves-Celebration of Life services honoring James B. Thigpen, 92, will be held on Thursday afternoon, October 1, 2026, at 1 o’clock p.m. at the Chapel at Creel Memorial Gardens. Rev. Don Duplechain will officiate. JB will be laid to rest at Creel Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Reeves, LA immediately following his services.

    JB’s family will receive friends and visitors at the Chapel at Creel Memorial Gardens on Thursday morning, October 1, 2026, from 11 o’clock a.m. until time of service. All of JB’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

    James B. Thigpen, also known as JB by friends and family, was born Monday, September 10, 1934, to the union of Jay and Beatrice Thigpen. He was a lifetime member of the Carpenters and Joiners of America for 50 years. JB was happily married to Beverly Y. Thigpen for 69 years. He was a country boy at heart. JB enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. His favorite pastime was gatherings with friends and family. JB was gifted with a long, good life and will be forever remembered and unconditionally loved by those that knew him.

    Those left to cherish JB’s memory include his wife, Beverly Y. Thigpen; one son, Collin “Monk” Thigpen and wife Katrina; one daughter, LeBetta Benton and husband Steven; four grandchildren, Breenan, Michael, Joshua, and Stephanie; five great grandchildren, Malli, Kemper, Issac, Benson, and Easten; and a host of extended family members and friends.

    JB is preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Beatrice Thigpen; one brother, Carl Thigpen; and two sisters, Hilda Heabler and Mildred Young.

    Pallbearers honored to serve are Steven, Joshua, Breenan, Michael, Scott, and Kayle.
