Oberlin-A Mass of Christian burial honoring James Oliver "Sug" Aguillard, 78, will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, July 31, 2024, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. Rev. Fr. Pradeep Gali will officiate. "Sug" will be laid to rest at Oberlin Cemetery immediately following his services.

"Sug's" family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2024, from 10 o'clock a.m. until time of service with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 11 o'clock a.m. All of "Sug's" arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.

"Sug" was a loving son, brother, and friend to all. He was an avid outdoorsman and absolutely loved to fish. "Sug" served our country in the United States Navy. He loved the holidays and spending time with his family. "Sug" taught his nieces and nephews how to water ski and that is a memory that they cherish dearly.  He worked for North Houston Pole Line as a lineman and worked hard all his life. "Sug" enjoyed the Louisiana Crawfish Festival. He was a very loving and caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish "Sug's" memory include six sisters, Bernadette Mougeot, Mary Virgina Rea "Jenny", Evelyn Colligan, Elizabeth "Beth" Breeland and husband Ronald, Theresa "Tweety" McGee, and Rita Miller and husband Billy, two brothers, Anthony "Tony" Aguillard and wife DeeDee, and Leonard Aguillard; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

"Sug" is preceded in death by his parents, Sullivan, and Yvonne Aguillard; and three brothers, Michael, Phillip, and Bernard Aguillard.
