Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring James “Danny” Soileau, 77, will be held on Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2026, at 2 o’clock p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Brian Johnson will officiate. James will be laid to rest at Catholic Cemetery in Oakdale, La. immediately following his services.

    James’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Wednesday morning, June 24, 2026, from 10 o’clock a.m. until time of service. All of James’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

    James “Danny” Soileau was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born on Thursday, August 12, 1948, in Oakdale, La. to the union of Harrison and Vernice Soileau. James was an Alumni of Oakdale High School and worked hard to provide and care for his family in the timber industry. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and being outdoors but most of all he loved to sit on his porch and watch his grandchildren and great grandchildren play. James will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by those who knew him.

    Those left to cherish James’s memory include his son, Jamey Soileau of Newton, TX; daughter, Donna Dickens and husband Don of Oakdale, LA; his bonus mom, Blanche Pender; seven grandchildren, Billy Soileau, Ashlyn Fish and husband Rusty, Johnathan Soileau and wife Janice, Nikki Chan and husband Peak, Jamie Carter, Lexi Dickens, and Thomas Dickens; twenty seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

    James is preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Vernice Soileau; brother, Robert “Bobby” Soileau; and Great granddaughter, Lanee Dickens.
