James was a loving husband, father, step-father, brother and grandfather. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Marion, for eight years. He worked very hard to provide for his family as a diesel mechanic for Boise in Oakdale for thirty-five years until his well-deserved retirement. James loved working on golf-carts, traveling, riding motorcycles and fishing with his grandbabies. James was a man of strong faith and leaves behind a legacy of loving Christ. He was a role model and teacher to many, from his co-workers to his kids and grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish James' memory include his wife, Marion Pitre of Mittie; son, Michael Pitre and wife, Courtney, of Mittie; daughter, Candace Morrow and husband, Jarred, of Grant; two step-daughters, Blythe Maxwell and husband, Richard, of Quitman and Patricia Kirk and husband, Eric, of Quitman; brother, Joey Pitre and wife, Renae, of DeRidder; sister, Teri Rose and husband, Carlton "Junior", of Iota; and nine grandchildren.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Anna Pitre; and one sister, Monette Houston.
