Kinder-Funeral service for James Corkern, 74, will be held on Thursday, April 6,
2023 at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. David
Free will officiate. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish
Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Thursday,
April 6, 2023, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
James was a very loving father and grandfather. He was also a devoted husband
to his wife, Michelle. He was the "best friend" one could ever ask for and he had a
great sense of humor. James worked many years and was a retired truck driver. He
loved his dogs, and he enjoyed fishing. He was a great cook, and his family loved
his cornbread dressing. Everyone who knew and loved James will feel his presence
forever in their hearts.

Those left to cherish James' memory include his wife, Michelle Corkern; five
daughters, Dr. Sonya Louviere and husband, Mark, Christy Kent and husband, Dan,
Raven Bailey and husband, Billy, Ashly Setliff and husband, Ben, and Tasha
Lovejoy and husband, Neil; three stepdaughters, Stephanie Vizena, Samantha
Sexton, and Susan Sexton; 18 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Eran Erastus and Margert Corkern;
one son, James F. Corkern; one daughter, Shannon LeBlanc; and one brother,
William "Bill" Corkern.
