Oberlin- Russell Carrier was born to the late Joseph and Elaine Carrier on December 16, 1961 in Oberlin. He departed this life at 2:19 a.m. at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Graveside Services for James Russell Carrier, 58, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at St. John Cemetery. Rev. Dallas Thomas will officiate. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will have a small private gathering on Saturday, April 22, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Russell was an employee of Allen Parish School Board for twenty five years. He was a family man and loved joking with his nieces and nephews. Russell loved hunting and he did it until he got sick. Through it all he maintained his sense of humor that made him (Lil Russell) that everyone loved and enjoyed. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Francis Carrier; three children, Jeremiah Carrier, Latoya Carrier and Nicholas Carrier all of Oberlin; four granddaughters, Neveah Carrier, Harmonee Ross, Mia Carrier and Myli Carrier; two sisters, Linda Roberts (Williams) and Helen Colemon, two brothers, Michael Carrier (Colleen) and Lloyd Carrier; two Godchildren, Rachel Carrier and Justice Lyons; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Carrier, Sr. and Mary Elaine Carrier; one brother, Joseph Carrier Jr. (Clara); two sisters, Bertha Tyler (Henry) and Mamie Alfred (Clement); and one nephew, Ryan Carrier.
