Obituary

Oberlin-Funeral service will be held for Mr. Jack Wayne Johnson, age 75, at 11am, Saturday, December 3, 2011 at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church, 205 West 8th Avenue, Oberlin, Louisiana, 70655. Deacon Norris Chapman and Ty Pearce will officiate. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery in Guy, Louisiana under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held at New Beginnings Assembly of God from 5-10pm on Friday, December 2, 2011 and will continue on Saturday from 8am until time of service.
Mr. Jack was a member of the IBEW Local #861 and was co-owner of Allen Electric. He was very active over the years with youth sports, 4-H and FFA. He was a past Grand Marshall of the Allen Parish Fair. He loved his Oberlin and LSU Tigers. Spending time with his grandchildren was the joy of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ellen Haas Johnson of Oberlin; four sons, John W. Johnson of Beaumont, TX, Dr. Mark Johnson and wife, Kathi of Flower Mound, TX, Charles "Chip" Johnson and wife, Peggy of Lake Charles, and Peter Johnson and wife, Trisha of Shreveport; three daughters, Dr. Anne-Marie Linhuber and husband, Rudy of New Orleans, Emily Doumite and husband, John of Lake Charles, and Allyson J. Spicer and husband, Scott of Sulphur; one brother, Ward Rudolph Johnson and wife, Joyce of Folsom; one sister, Mattie L. Coffman and husband, Vernon of Lafayette; and fifteen grandchildren.
Mr. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Ward Johnson; one sister, Dorothy Ruth Dugger; and one daughter, Jeanne Ellen Johnson.
