Ragley-Mr. Jack D. Langley, 74, passed away Saturday morning, July 21, 2012 at Kinder Retirement Center. Funeral service will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10am in the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Roy Nash will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder beginning Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 3-9pm and will continue visitation on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 8am until time of service.
From 1956-1960, Jack served his country in the United States Navy and, thereafter, enlisted in the United States Army. As a soldier with the U.S. Army, he served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the military in 1976 at which time he began working with the Federal Civil Service at Fort Hood, Texas. He was very proud of his military service and will be laid to rest with full military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Riggle of Killeen, TX; his daughter, Christine Kesterson and husband, Robert of Marshfield, MO; two brothers, John C. Langley of Ragley and Eli Lafleur, Jr. of Moss Bluff; one sister, Mary Ryan of Kinder; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Lydia and Samuel Langley; one daughter, Kathleen Patterson; five brothers-James Monroe Langley, Andrew Day Langley, Charles Langley, Morgan Langley, and John Amos Lafleur; and one sister, Martha Elizabeth Walker.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Jack's memory to the American Cancer Society.
