Kinder-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Izella P. Landry, 90, at 11 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m.
Izella was a lifelong resident of Kinder and member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She was a loving wife of 67 years to her husband, Edward, prior to his passing in 2010. She was also a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Izella was a woman of great faith. She worked hard over the years to provide for her family. She was a housekeeper for many years for the Buck and Sonnier families as well as a sitter for the elderly. She loved to sew, knit and crochet. She also enjoyed her time spent with her family. Izella will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Izella's memory include her three daughters, Laura Jane Landry of Kinder, Mary Joan Ardoin and husband, Lawrence of Lake Charles, and Eva Rita Ball and husband, Reginald, Jr. of Lake Charles; one brother, Willis Prudhomme, of Kinder; two sisters, Theresa Kirkland, of Kinder and Mary Kirkland, of Oberlin; four grandchildren, Reginald Ball III, Sean Ardoin, Erica Ardoin, and Chris Ardoin; and six great grandchildren, Sean Ardoin II, Kiersten Ball, Reginald Ball IV, Collin Ardoin, Carter Ardoin, and Bryson Charles.
Izella is preceded in death by her parents, August and Joyce Prudhomme; husband, Edward Landry; five brothers, Ervin, Charles, John, Audry and Joseph Prudhomme; and three sisters, Loretta Ceaser, Amy Hillstock and Irene Landry.
