Fenton-Funeral service for Irvin Fontenot , 83, will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on April 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. Rev. Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors Monday, April 13, 2015, from 4:30-9:00 p.m. at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Irvin was a lifelong resident of Fenton. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Phyllis, for 57 years. He also was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather who worked hard to provide for his family. He was a lifelong member of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus for 20 plus years. Irvin loved to hunt.
Survivors include two sons, Buddy Fontenot and wife, Bussy, of Fenton; Jimmy Fontenot and wife, Janet, of Kinder; one daughter, Pam Reed and husband, Kyle, of Fenton; one sister, Yvonne Bebee and husband, Ray, of Iowa; 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Irvin is preceded in death by his parents, Abie and Mary Fontenot; and one brother, Gene Fontenot.
