Elton- Funeral Mass for Mrs. Irene Buller Manuel Rees, 93, will be held Monday, November 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church in Elton. Father Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
Visitation will be held in Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton Sunday from 10am-8pm with a rosary at 6pm. Visitation will continue Monday at 8am until time of service.
Mrs. Irene was a native & resident of Elton, was a life time member of the Ladies Altar Society, her labor of being a talented seamstress & quilter affected many in the community and she touched the lives of those who knew her. She retired from the Elton Lumbar Yard after 27 years of service. Mrs. Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, and was a person who never met a stranger. Her loving family and many friends will miss her dearly. Following a brief illness, Mrs. Irene passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Survivors include one son, Rodney Manuel & wife Jean of Elton; three daughters, Wilma Jeans & husband Louis, Sherian McGee & husband Charles all of Elton, Gail Burns & husband Mark of Baton Rouge; one step daughter, Linda Carrier & husband Terry of Elton; 22 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by two husbands, Mayuis Manuel & Gomer Rees.
