Kinder-Funeral services for Ida Mae Autin, age 75, will be held on Thursday,
January 27, 2011 at 10am in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Fr. Carlos Garcia
will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction
of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Wednesday,
January 26, 2011 from 4-10pm with a vigil at 6pm followed by a Rosary.
Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8am until time of service.
Ida was a lifelong resident of Kinder and member of St. Philip Neri
Catholic Church. She also was a member of The Catholic Daughters and
worked as a cafeteria worker for over 25 years at Kinder Elementary School.
She enjoyed making rosaries to give to family and friends and crocheting.
She was a loving and giving person and a devoted wife of 36 years. She was
also a loving mom, grandmother, and friend.
Survivors include her sons, John Autin Jr., and wife Carol of Oberlin,
Kenneth Autin and wife Peggy of Youngville, La., Russell Autin and wife
Sheila of Lake Charles, La., Norris Autin and wife Cathy of Bell City, La.,
Wendall Autin and wife Bonnie of Kinder, La.; two sisters, Lerline Vincent
of Sulphur, La., and Geneva Richard of Oberlin, La.; and fourteen grand-
children and twelve great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband John "J.O."Autin, Sr.; her
Parents Monroe & Aline Smith; and two brothers, Henry Smith and Harold
Smith; and sister Marie Arceneaux.
