Obituary

Kinder-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Howard Soileau, age 60, announce his passing on June 12, 2013. Howard will be honored with a Celebration of Life service at Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of Kinder at 10AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 and will then be laid out at the Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge in Palmetto with a funeral service being held there at 10AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Rev. Jimmy D. White and Rev. Dallas (J.R.) Shuff will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Pentecostal Cemetery of Palmetto under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Kinder visitation will be held at Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 4-9PM. After the celebration there on Tuesday, visitation will be held in Palmetto at Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge from 4-9PM followed by the funeral service and burial on Wednesday in Palmetto.
Howard grew up in Palmetto under the influence of his devout Pentecostal mother. He had a strong faith molded by his "Prayer Warrior" mom. He also followed the influence of his father's military service. He retired with the United States Army after 24 years of active service. He managed the Greatwood Country Cabins in Kinder for the past several years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fixing anything he could with his tractor. He was a devoted husband of 31 years, as well as a loving dad and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife-Glenda Soileau of Kinder; one son-Howard Soileau II and wife, Elizabeth of Paris, KY; one daughter-Shawna Soileau of Georgia; three brothers-Carl Soileau of Sunset, Zane and Dennis Soileau, both of Humble, TX; two sisters-Sylvia Ledoux and Jeanie Soileau, both of Palmetto; and one grandchild, Chesney Soileau of Paris, KY.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents-Blackie and J.T. Soileau.
